BVI currently oversees more than €900 million in investment commitments, distributed across 30+ asset managers in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Latin America, as well as direct investments in fintechs, warrants, and startups linked to Spark.</span></p><p></p><p><b>About the job:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Main objectives:</b></p><p><span>In particular, the candidate will be:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>The main liaison with VC funds under his/her coverage, currently LatAm.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Be responsible for business generation for BBVA Spark. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead/participate in the definition/update of the investment strategy of the area in the different verticals.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead/participate in all aspects of the investment process: fund screening and selection, negotiation, due diligence and execution.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Involved in the ongoing management of the investments in VC funds, including, but not limited to: reviewing the fund’s deal-flow, representing BBVA at the fund’s investment committee, liaising with BBVA’s internal stakeholders for the purpose of generating business opportunities and transferring key insights from the VCs to the Group.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Monitor funds performance and other relevant trends.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Prepare insightful and timely analyses and presentations to drive investment decisions and for engagement with the area’ extensive network of internal (BBVA) and external (VC ecosystem) stakeholders.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Requirements:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Business or Engineering degree or an MBA from top business school.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Prior experience with the VC industry and an existing personal network will be extremely valuable.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven experience in developing and presenting market analysis and/or investment proposals.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Previous experience with Latin American markets is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Investor in listed companies or private companies is a plus</span>.</p></li><li><p><span>Languages: Spanish and English fluent necessary for the performance of daily functions.</span></p></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><b><span>Soft skills:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent analytical and communication skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strategic thinker, capable of coming up with new ideas and solutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Team player mentality who lives by our values (“customers come first”, “think big”, “one team”).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Any work experience that demonstrates the drive, skills and character required to be successful in a demanding, entrepreneurial and dynamic work environment.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Qualified candidates likely also meet the following criteria:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Self-starter with superior work ethic and uncompromising personal integrity.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Highly analytical with an interest in sifting through, and identifying trends within, large volumes of data.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of financial modeling and accounting.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision (including proactively seeking guidance when needed).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Passionate about personal development and career mentorship.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Wants to be part of a highly collaborative team, where we all strive to win together.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.</span></p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Technical skills:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Business/Financial Analysis.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Financial Modeling.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Spreadsheet and presentation software in both Office and Google environments (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets).</span></p></li></ul><p><
