Position overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, dedicated to improving lives for 3.2 million Illinoisans, is seeking to hire a highly motivated, qualified professional to serve as Bureau Chief of the Bureau of Program and Policy Coordination within the Division of Medical Programs. This leadership position will develop and coordinate the implementation of policies in alignment with State and Federal regulations, serve as the subject matter expert and agency spokesperson on Medicaid programs and policies, develop State Plan Amendments, oversee programs with federal administrative claiming, and work with various stakeholders including the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS),sister agencies, and legislators. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, effective communication faculties both in managing staff and presenting to executive leadership, proven organizational abilities, and experience in Medicaid or other public healthcare programs. This role requires a collaborative leader, who can excel in a fast-paced environment, manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex operations in order to advance high-quality services for Illinois’ Medicaid population.
