The BD Interventional Segment is a leading innovator in the fields of vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products. This position will be responsible for global market access initiatives in BD’s Urology and Critical Care (UCC) Division, executing targeted initiatives in the Home Care, Acute Urology, Endourology, and Temperature Management platforms.
To ensure optimal access and adoption of the BD portfolio throughout the product life cycle, we rely on an integrated approach to market access and payment policy. The incumbent will be part of a strong Central Team that fosters a holistic “all of Public Affairs” approach to initiatives that are critical to advancing business priorities and shaping the future of healthcare. Overview of Opportunity + Job Description
To ensure our customers and the patients they serve have optimal access to our technologies, we strive to regularly identify opportunities for the business to maintain, gain and expand coverage for life saving medical devices. The Senior Manager will be an integral part of the Central Market Access team reporting to the Senior Director, Market Access and Payment Policy for BD’s Interventional Segment business. This individual will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, HEOR, Medical Affairs, R&D UCC business partners as well as regional and country leaders to shape payment pathways and identify tactical reimbursement strategies that advance access to key products and innovations. The following are key capability areas:
Developing and advancing reimbursement strategies in conjunction with UCC’s commercial teams to drive favorable customer adoption, coverage, and payment for key products
Addressing market access challenges across various settings of care and delivering key updates to internal and external customers in a timely and consistent manner
Communicating complex topics and concepts in a way that may be understood by a broad range of internal and external stakeholders; fostering effective collaboration and discussion to advance business goals
Executing on critical initiatives with the Sr. Director, Market Access & Payment Policy to advance coverage and adoption of targeted products with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), State Medicaid Agencies and commercial payers
Engaging with global market access and country/region leaders to coordinate planning and execution of targeted initiatives
Collaborating with HEOR and Medical Affairs on evidence generation planning to ensure early development of evidence to support market access and reimbursement strategy
Managing relationships with outside consultants and vendors providing prior-authorization and coding support, managing annual updates to coding/payment guides and other collaterals as needed
Advising on changes to and opportunities within US and Global value and quality payment programs
Building new and maintaining existing relationships with medical societies and academies as well as physician thought leaders
Monitoring key market access and policy trends, opportunities and barriers affecting UCC customers and products, including landscape assessments for early innovation products
