Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, the Strategic Partnerships Outreach Coordinator will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. A key skill will be locating new development opportunities through research and cold call-like tactics. This position will be responsible for setting meetings for the business development team and assuring the smooth transition in the relationship process. Additionally, they will have responsibility for setting meetings for the account management team for contact expansion. The effort of setting appointments will include pre-work of writing telephone scripts, developing and implementing campaigns, and sophisticated email follow-up.
The Strategic Partnerships Outreach Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. This position will not have direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing new sales opportunities through outbound cold calls and emails
- Sourcing new contacts through outbound cold calls and emails
- Identifying and sourcing field representation opportunities for team in our B2B2C vertical channels
- Understanding customer needs and requirements
- Routing qualified opportunities to the appropriate business development or account management team member for further development
- Team with business development and account management partners to build a pipeline of prospects
- Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
- Maintain and expand your database of prospects for each business development and account management partner
- Meet goals of set appointments in a specified time-period
- Perform effective online demos to prospects
- Develop and implement campaign plans
- Maintains confidentiality of all APUS information
- Documents all activity using customer relationship management (CRM) tool
- Prepares briefings and presents information to internal and external stakeholders regarding trends, issues and opportunities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
External contacts will include business, industry trade and government professionals at all levels including operations, finance, legal, human resources departments, education and training departments. Internal contacts may include fellow APUS employees up to the CEO and Board of Directors level, including students, alumni, and prospective students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience with demonstrated success in business development, corporate outreach, account management and lead generation; preferably in the education industry.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and use of the Internet.
- Experience with customer relationship management, data visualization and data reporting and analysis software preferred
- Must have excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
- Strong Internet research skills, ability to quickly and accurately find, absorb and analyze market information and recognize patterns and trends.
- Willing to travel as appropriate to partner sites to maintain business relationships and attend education fairs and other functions to support business development efforts.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external partners to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and partner experience.
- Must be able to easily work within a fast-paced, growing organization.
