Job Description

The Indiana University Foundation seeks highly motivated applicants for the Part-Time Temporary Custodian position. This position works as part of a facilities team and completes building maintenance services such as cleaning offices, restrooms, common areas, windows, stairs, and other building areas. This role also assists with "set-ups" for building functions and cleaning areas upon event completion.

In addition, this position will assist with grounds maintenance by cleaning sidewalks and grounds adjacent to our buildings and helping with special projects, events, and other duties as assigned.

This is an on-site, part-time temporary position that we expect to last at least 90 days with the possibility for an extension. The primary schedule includes 20- 29 hours per week between Monday and Friday, starting at 3:30 pm and ending at 12:00 am. 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Experience with general maintenance and custodial duties
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
• Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Organizational skills necessary to plan and coordinate work
• Ability to follow safe work practices in biohazard or hazardous waste clean-up.
• Reliable transportation is required for this role

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• General knowledge at the high school level is required.
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required.
