Your Specific Responsibilities:
Process and audit contract payments ensuring that all payment requirements are met and then process payment within FLAIR. Process and audit Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), Memorandum of Understanding as well as any grant payments, legislative provision payments or interagency agreements assigned. A wide variety of accounting transactions must be processed in FLAIR to create the appropriate voucher documents. Auditor is responsible for processing returns and deletions from the Department of Financial Services. Types of payments to be processed include but are not limited to: journal transfers, settlement agreements, contractual services, corrections and miscellaneous items.
Auditor deals directly with the public, vendor, and program office to resolve discrepancies in contract disbursements. The auditor will respond to inquiries both oral and written regarding payment and account status. Conducts research as needed to resolve and correct disbursement discrepancies.
Maintain accurate payment logs for all payments processed.
Auditor will provide technical training and support to contract managers, contract administration and the contract administration monitoring staff when needed as well as input and participation in staff training, when necessary.
Assist in the year end processing including the certified forward process and the creation of payables.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.
Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to use computer software skills, including beginner skills in database/ spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to research and find errors in reconciliation of expenditures and cash reports.
Knowledge of Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR).
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
Qualifications:
Must have minimum of one year working experience analyzing and/or auditing financial data and be verifiable within the incumbent’s application.
