ChristianaCare is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Assistant I to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. This dynamic role supports both our retail and catering operations, ensuring exceptional service and high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Catering Support:

• Organize, set up, and deliver catering services to designated locations
• Prepare beverages, salads, sandwiches, and box meals
• Ensure professional presentation and timely setup of catering events
• Clean up catering setups and properly sanitize equipment
• Communicate with customers and assist with planning future catering needs

Retail Operations:

• Serve customers in a fast-paced retail food environment
• Stock inventory and maintain sanitation standards
• Assist with pot washing and food preparation
• Operate dish machines and ware washing equipment
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces

Schedule: Every other weekend & holiday rotation required; varied hours based on catering events.

Retail Shift Hours:

• 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 11:15 AM – 7:45 PM

Catering hours will vary based on scheduled events (morning and evening shifts).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (or currently enrolled)
• Minimum 1 year of catering experience preferred
• Ability to lift and walk with up to 30 lbs
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
