Portfolio Sales Manager

Reporting to the Senior Regional Sales Manager as a Portfolio Sales Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the regional sales team by facilitating the end-to-end wholesale sales process. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally will contribute to the successful execution of sales strategies and commercial initiatives. The primary responsibilities of this dynamic role are to provide sales strategies, product expertiseand analytical insights toward regional sales management’s execution of sell-in and sell-through targets as well as, direct management of a dedicated regional agency. Secondarily, this role will provide operational support to the regional and brand Smartwool and icebreaker go-to-market structures.

How You Will Make a Difference

The Regional Sales Manager owns the triangulation between the brands, sales management, and accounts, by directly managing a sales channel and owning the performance of a territory. This will include assortment planning, sales development insights, order book management, samples and gratis merchandise allocation, OPEX,  revenue planning/forecasting, and retail staff/consumer engagement. You will be the eyes and ears of the sales management team, working directly with our external agency partners, wholesale customer management stakeholders and sales management to execute the go-to-market strategy.

Areas of responsibility includes, but are not limited to:

Sales Management

  • Direct Territory Management: Under the guidance of regional sales management, you will lead the west territory through the sell-in & through processes. A primary responsibility will be the planning, forecasting, and performance of your territory revenue and OPEX plans. As the face of the brand in territory, you will be the conduit between our external agents and customers, gathering feedback, marketing insights. Effective relationship development and management of key contract and external stakeholders will be critical to your success.
  • Sales Development Analysis: Utilize data derived from analysis of customer sales and orderbooks to optimize sales processes, enhance customer engagement, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization.
  • GTM Data Tools: Utilize data tools to gather insights, develop informed sales targets, and support sell-in and sell-through strategies of your region and direct agency, and achievement of targets.
  • Orderbook Management: Monitor and track open orders to ensure optimized fulfillment and delivery to customers; ensure supply-demand match for the seasonal orderbooks. Work closely with operations and customer service teams to coordinate the bulk order conversion processes, ensuring accurate order entry and fulfillment.
  • OPEX & Revenue: Collaborate cross functionally with your vertical sales leadership and internal stakeholders to develop and track to fiscal year revenue and expense plans. You will own the OPEX and revenue plans and targets for your territories and verticals.
  • Consumer Engagement: Provide logistical and administrative support for sales events, trade shows, and promotional activities.

What success looks like: This individual will utilize their experience, to support the Western Region Sales Team in its execution of the portfolio go-to-market vision, ensure customers’ needs are met, and sales targets are achieved. The ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level will be key.
