Summary
The Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology & Oncology is seeking a Business Operations Associate to manage the day-to-day business operations for the section. This will support management of Research, Clinical and Education Operations, including development and management of budget, reviewing staffing plans & productivity for Baylor Clinic, recommending and implementing process improvement, managing HR activities including hiring, termination, merits and equity, and supporting post-award related tasks. The Business Operations Associate will work closely with the Section Administrator, Section Chief, and FGP Medical Director. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of Baylor Medicine and possess a bachelor's degree or relevant working experience at BCM. This position requires teamwork, strong organization skills, and self-motivation.

Job Duties
- Performs and oversees the daily operation of a department or unit, primarily in the areas of human resources, compliance and financial management.
- Establishes staffing plans, schedules and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs.
- Ensures the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity.
- Manages the human resources activities for a unit/department, including hiring, terminations, salary, and disciplinary actions.
- Formulates policies and guidelines for the unit/department activities.
- Reviews and approves all statements of accounts, payroll, human resources, and invoice actions.
- May develop, manage, and control budgets and a variety of financial data. Establish financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
- May assist with or manage pre-award and/or post award related tasks in support of department faculty members.
- May assist with or manage special projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
