The Team:
Hospitals North is responsible for a broad range of healthcare services delivered within the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and through eight regional Primary Health sites.
The LGH is Tasmania’s second largest hospital and the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania. Providing inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas. The LGH also delivers extensive outpatient and ambulatory services for the local community. Hospitals North is the largest employer in the region with approximately 3,800 staff. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
Contribute to the management and coordination of the Office of the Chief Executive Hospitals North with a particular focus on Strategic Communications.
The Senior Coordinator will support the Chief Executive Hospitals North through preparation of briefings, speeches, and other communication materials for relevant stakeholders. The Senior Coordinator will also develop, implement, and manage internal and external communication strategies for Hospitals North.
Position Features: Some intra/interstate travel may be required
You will need:
• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional communication materials and develop content across multiple channels tailored to diverse audiences including but not limited to, press releases, speeches, digital platforms, and briefings.
• Ability to lead communication projects, provide guidance to staff and work collaboratively across a range of teams to deliver consistent, high-quality messaging under tight deadlines.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, health professionals, community organisations, and media outlets.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
