DESCRIPTION: The Desktop Engineering and Security Manager is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), the Desktop Engineering and Security Manager is an important leadership position that places Foundry at the forefront of technology, driving innovation and ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge solutions that empower our teams to thrive in the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency. With a dual focus on desktop engineering and security operations, this leader will be orchestrating a symphony of technology to propel Foundry forward.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive desktop engineering and data center strategy, aligning with the company's overall goals. Leverage your expertise to guide the team towards adopting emerging technologies and industry best practices.

- Lead and mentor a talented team of desktop engineers and data center professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Empower your team to design, implement, and maintain robust desktop solutions and data center operations that meet the evolving needs of our organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies seamlessly into both desktop and data center environments. Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our data centers, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Implement best practices for data center management, including monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Prioritize and enforce cybersecurity measures for both desktop and data center environments to safeguard our systems and data. Collaborate with security experts to implement and maintain robust security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Streamline and optimize desktop and data center workflows to enhance productivity and user satisfaction. Implement automation solutions where applicable, reducing manual intervention and increasing the overall efficiency of our operations.
- Develop and implement proactive measures for identifying and resolving desktop and data center-related incidents. Collaborate with support teams to ensure swift troubleshooting and resolution, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- Work closely with the finance department to develop and manage the desktop engineering and data center budget. Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and deliver exceptional results within financial constraints.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and external partners for both desktop and data center solutions. Evaluate third-party offerings, negotiate contracts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Establish comprehensive documentation processes for desktop configurations, procedures, and data center operations. Provide ongoing training to end-users and support teams, ensuring a knowledgeable and capable user community.
- Implement a culture of continuous improvement, regularly assessing desktop and data center processes and performance. Foster a mindset of adaptability and innovation within the team, driving enhancements and optimizations across both environments.
