Description
Laboratory Associate will conduct research regarding the environmental impacts of food and agriculture.
Responsibilities:
1. Researching and summarizing scientific literature regarding environmental production of food and agriculture.
2. Research and collating data.
3. Performing mathematical and statistical analysis on the synthesized results.
4. Writing up the synthesized results into public-facing and scientific summaries.
Position expectations: The start date is October 1, 2026, with an appointment that will last 11 months. This is a fully in-person position. The successful candidate should anticipate weekly meetings (zoom or in person) with the project PI to ensure progress and map out evolving objectives and needs.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the yearly salary for this position is $59,700. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications
Required qualifications
· A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related fields.
· Familiarity with scientific research on the intersection of climate change, food production, biogeochemistry.
· Experience with statistical and geospatial data analysis.
· Self-motivated in research, and able to generate succinct results in a timely fashion.
· Possesses high scientific reading and writing proficiency.
· Experience communicating to both general and specialized scientific audiences in a comprehensive manner.
