Job Summary: The Director of Wealth & Retirement Development is responsible for leading growth across the Wealth Management and Retirement Plan Consulting businesses within the Wealth & Retirement Division of INTRUST Bank. This role provides direct leadership to Wealth Advisors and Retirement Plan Consultants, with accountability for new business development, active prospecting, team development, client retention, and cross-functional collaboration. The Director serves as a visible leader within INTRUST Bank and the broader community, championing the firm’s value proposition, driving organic growth through self-sourced opportunities, and developing team members into confident, high-performing business developers. While retention and cross-sell remain core expectations, this role places equal emphasis on new client acquisition and proactive business development leadership. Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives and projects to support the department and/or business unit. Establishes work processes for team members and ensures a high-level of customer service is delivered and promotes and fosters teamwork across all areas of INTRUST. Represents INTRUST Bank in all they do in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. • Effectively manage others by consistently applying INTRUST’s supervisor and manager expectations: relationship management; feedback; coaching and development; establishing effective work culture expectations; critical thinking; business acumen; and resource management.
• Provide leadership and oversight to Wealth Advisors and Retirement Plan Consultants, establishing clear expectations around production, prospecting activity, client service, outcomes, and professional development.
• Maintain strong focus on client retention and cross-sell, ensuring existing relationships continue to deepen while identifying new opportunities for comprehensive advice.
• Establish a performance-driven culture that balances growth, client experience, accountability, and collaboration across Wealth and Retirement teams.
• Lead and model active business development, including personal prospecting, self-sourcing of new client relationships, and participation in pipeline reviews, opportunity strategy, and referral development.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure advisors are supported, scalable, and focused on high-impact client and prospect activities.
• Collaborate with Division leadership on business and product strategy, talent development, and long-term growth initiatives for the Division.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and advisor best practices, translating insights into actionable strategies for the team.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards while reinforcing ethical behavior and professionalism.
• Promote the use of tools, technology, and processes that enhance advisor effectiveness, client engagement, and prospecting efficiency.
• Serve as a public face of the Wealth & Retirement business, actively representing INTRUST Bank in the community through:
o Industry events and professional associations
o Community and nonprofit involvement
o Client and prospect events
o Strategic networking aligned with growth initiatives
• This role is expected to be highly visible and “out and about,” building credibility, brand awareness, and trust that directly supports business development efforts.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field required. Minimum 10 years of experience in Wealth Management, Retirement Plan Consulting, financial services or related sales leadership roles. Demonstrated success in business development and team growth strongly preferred.
