Cloud Security Engineer Remote
Full-time, remote, United States
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable cloud Security Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto’s Prisma Cloud (or similar CNAPP) platform to join our cybersecurity team. This role is responsible for monitoring, managing, and optimizing cloud security within Prisma Cloud, collaborating with multiple internal customer teams, and ensuring security best practices are enforced across cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in cloud security technologies, operations, and processes. They must be proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working with numerous stakeholders and teams to remediate threats, document knowledge, and act as a partner to all internal customers.
As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will
- Monitor Prisma Cloud dashboards for alerts, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks
- Work directly with affected stakeholders to investigate and address issues, alerts, false-positives, document lessons-learned and follow-up as needed
- Support internal customer teams with their cloud security needs, including portal access, client deployments, investigating alerts, reporting, metrics and similar requests.
- Guide teams in shifting security to the left and into their DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Generate and analyze reports on security metrics, recurring issues, and key risk areas
- Identify opportunities to automate security processes and reporting
About you
- Degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent education and experience in Information Security, Computer Science, or related curriculum
- Extensive experience in Information Technology and Information Security fields
- Expertise in Palo Alto Prisma Cloud (or similar CNAPP tooling) and securing cloud environments
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, cloud security frameworks (CIS, OWASP, NIST, etc.), and threat mitigation techniques
- Strong understanding of related security functions such as XDR, CASB, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, SOC, FIM, WAF, API Gateways, SAST, DAST, and similar
- Experience working with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, code repositories, bash/PowerShell scripting, leveraging API calls, and security automation
- Experience working with common technical systems such as ticketing, change management, ITIL, ITSM, CMDB, document repositories, and similar
- Highly preferred Certifications such as Palo Alto PCCSE, AWS/Azure Security Certifications, CISSP, CCSK, CCSP
- Hands-on experience with container technologies and security, IaC creation/use (Terraform, CloudFormation), creating/managing AWS environments/accounts,
- Experience with other cybersecurity toolsets, such as Zscaler, Qualys, SentinelOne, BeyondTrust, Salt Security, and/or similar.
- Experience with on-premises security solutions, particularly as it relates to hybrid cloud environments.
