ABOUT THIS ROLE

Hybrid Schedule: 3X in office, 2 days remote

Location: Downtown Chicago

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Insurance Carrier experience preferred.
  • Execution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliation, and maintenance of appropriate controls over financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with FP&A in preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecast and forecast variance review.
  • Assist in the annual audit including preparation of PBC items, support for audit samples, timely response to testing questions and preparation of various footnote schedules within the audited financial statement.
  • Approve vendor bills and expense.
  • Oversees general ledger maintenance including, but not limited to, trial balance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  • Reviews, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
  • Utilize technology to drive continuous improvement of processes, reports, and controls
  • Approve vendor bills and expense.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5+ years’ accounting, auditing, or controllership experience
  • Journal Entry, Reconciliation, and Financial Statement Proficiency
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience in the P&C Insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-solving abilities
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • CPA strongly preferred
