Job Description
Job Title: Technical Lead – MRB Design, US Defense Ops
Working Pattern: Onsite/Hybrid In Office 3 days/week
Working location: Indianapolis, IN
As a Team Lead for Rotatives in US MRB Design, you will be responsible for leading a team of design engineers to deliver engineering solutions to manufactured and procured non-conforming product to ensure delivery of safe, quality, functional parts to production assembly and aftermarket for all of US Defense Programs (T56, Helicopters, US Naval, LiftSystem, AE Engines, etc.). You will work directly with Engine Programs, Operations, Supply Chain, and various specialist groups to ensure that nonconforming Rotatives commodity parts and their applications are assessed appropriately. You will also be responsible for reviewing engineering justifications for accuracy, robustness, and overall quality to ensure safe operation of our products.

What you will be doing:
Here you’ll have the opportunity to work on the following:
Author, review, and sign Technical Analysis Reports (TARs) and Concessions to enable final disposition of nonconforming hardware across all Indianapolis Production Programs
Function as a delegate of the Chief Design Engineer as a TAR & MRB Critical Design Approver
Lead a small team of engineers in assessment of nonconforming hardware for the Rotatives (Turbine & Compressor Wheels, Shafts) group
Ensure proper communications with key stakeholders within US Defense Operations, US Defense Programs, and Global Procurement/Supply Chain organization to deliver MRB solutions consistent with Defense divisional priorities
Manage workload, prioritization of team members’ workload, and ensure work is performed to the appropriate technical standards/processes and required time frames
Ensure knowledge capture, lessons learnt, and best practice guides for the MRB group, and encourage knowledge sharing within the group and beyond
Where appropriate, manage the relationship between engineering and the supply chain representatives to ensure effective/efficient MRB solutions are implemented both internally and externally
Provide technical leadership, guidance, coaching and mentoring to assigned engineers to enable them to be their best
Develop, deliver, and demonstrate your sub-team’s delivery performance metrics, and be a champion for continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing and/or quality OR
Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience within design, manufacturing and/or quality OR
JD/Ph.D.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident to be eligible for consideration
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of experience in design, manufacturing and/or quality or
Master’s degree in engi
