This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• A Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and services manufacturing and facility systems.
• Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systems
• Interpret blueprints and schematics
• Implement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts
• Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair
• Adhere to current sanitation and GMP requirements
• Maintain current status on all required training  

SHIFT

This position will work on 3rd shift with regular hours of 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years experience as an industrial or commercial Mechanic
• Understanding of mechanical system and mechanical and spatial aptitude
• Good mathematical and writing skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation, and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation
• Attention to detail and follow-up
• Preferred Qualifications
• Technical Diploma
• 2+ years' experience as an industrial or commercial Mechanic
• Two-year mechanical technical degree or equivalent experience 
• Welding Certification from area college or trade school 
• Predictive Maintenance experience/training
• Seamer Certification via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer School (or equivalent) and demonstrated seamer proficiency
• Backflow Prevention Certification by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction Association

The base pay for this position is

$20.60 – $41.20/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
