Sr. Research Program Manager

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Sr. Research Program Manager (RPM)in the Division of General Pediatrics. The successful candidate will have responsibility for high level research and programmatic duties and supervision across several projects. These projects include funded projects on obesity prevention, social determinants of health, and primary care. Additional projects may include projects on health disparities, health and democracy, and culture and health. The Sr. RPM will also be the key point person for the Primary Care Consortium—a group of individuals across Johns Hopkins University who are committed to the research, education, clinical care best practices, and policies of elevating primary care. The Sr. RPM will work with the Director of the Primary Care Consortium to manage a high-level group of faculty’s primary care efforts and will also work with the PI for many research programs to execute multisite research. The Sr. RPM will also supervise additional research and project staff, including a senior research coordinator who is working on a federally funded, large grant and other research staff, including coordinators, and students.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead development, ongoing maintenance, and implementation of project standard operating procedures, IRBs, and work plans.
• Support the dissemination of papers and projects (supporting publication submission, social media management, and the like).
• Partner with study PIs and collaborators in the planning and implementation of multi-site projects.
• Participate in scientific discussions with PIs and research teams for many projects.
• Supervise the lead of a project that will be embedding behavioral health specialists into primary care settings and support the ongoing work of the project advisory board for that project.
• Facilitate communication between research teams that cross sites and institutions.
• Help develop and closely monitor REDCap databases and other data collection tools that will be used during data collection and for data storage and management on various project.
• Schedule high level meetings of multiple stakeholders, plan conferences and events, monitor a multidisciplinary listserv, and create newsletters and website content for the primary care consortium.

Data Synthesis & Analysis

• Participate in planning, analysis and interpretation of data.
• Synthesize and edit research findings and technical data.
• Participate in the development and submission of scientific manuscripts, presentations, and technical reports to funders.
• Prepare data on project implementation and outcomes for presentation at professional meetings.
• Assist research team in developing plans for disseminating project results.

Administrative

• Monitor project budgets and allocation of project resources.
• Plan agendas and coordinate all project meetings.
• Review, edit, distribute minutes from project meetings.
• Assure project management tasks are completed (e.g., prioritization, timeliness, milestones, monitoring status).
• Participate in project and consortium meetings and contribute high level operational management.
• Work in coordination with research team to ensure accuracy, proper organization and advanced preparation of reports to the funder.
• Prepare and update study protocols and reports for Institutional Review Board.
• Assist with grant writing under guidance of the PIs.

Supervision

• Interviews, hires, and trains project staff with guidance from PIs as appropriate.
• Supervises project staff and oversees data collection procedures at multiple sites.
• Identifies project staff who are behind in project activities and helps when needed.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams and communities as well as supervise personnel.

• Master's degree or PhD in child psychology, social work, pediatrics, public health or related discipline
• Eight years related experience including significant experience in field conducting large research projects

• Experience with multisite research projects.
