Network Security Engineer

<p><b><i><span>What IT Network contributes to Cardinal Health</span></i></b></p><p></p><p><span>IT Network Security is responsible for designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the Cardinal Health local and wide area networks and the Cardinal Health telephone systems, small and medium contact centers, and relationships with telecom service and maintenance vendors.</span></p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><span>Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, WLANs, Cisco &amp; HP network devices.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated thorough understanding of network security concepts and systems including but not limited to F5 Load Balancers, WAF concepts, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sophos, Zscaler.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrates thorough understanding of SSL Decryption concepts, implementation, and troubleshooting.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.</span></li><li><span>Configures and implements network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, load balancers as break/fix or enhancement requests.</span></li><li><span>Ability to troubleshoot network issues as they arise across various corporate and remote site environments.</span></li><li><span>Applies comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of network concepts, principles, and technical capabilities.</span></li><li><span>Monitors network traffic and security devices for performance problems.</span></li><li><span>Investigates and resolves client and vendor incidents through maintenance contracts.</span></li><li><span>Creates and maintains diagrams of network topologies.</span></li><li><span>Participates in the development policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.</span></li><li><span>Works on complex projects of large scope</span></li><li><span>Independently determines method for completion of new projects and tasks.  Receives general guidance on overall project objectives</span></li><li><span>Provide estimates, tasks, forecasts, and budget for project work and assessment requests</span></li><li><span>Demonstrates the ability to view what we do and apply it towards an enterprise perspective/ understands implication </span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><i><span>Qualifications:</span></i></b></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience</span></li><li><span>4+ years’ experience in related field preferred</span></li><li><span>3+ years supporting enterprise applications preferred</span></li><li><span>Applicable technical certifications preferred</span></li><li><span>GCP, AWS working experience is a plus.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability or working experience with Ansible or Terraform.</span></li><li><span>Working experience with F5 ASM, AWAF or Akamai is a plus.</span></li><li><span>Certifications in related technologies preferred but not required</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><i><span>What is expected of you and others at this level</span></i></b></p><ul><li><span>Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects</span></li><li><span>May contribute to the development of policies and procedures</span></li><li><span>Works on complex projects of large scope</span></li><li><span>Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
