Basic Requirements Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. To qualify at the ZP-IV level: In addition to the basic requirements above, applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-12 level (ZP-III at NIST) or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least three of the following areas: Experience in stem cell and other cell culture process, experience in cell culture process control measurements for cell expansion and bioprocess control, Experience in cellular measurement methods including microscopy, flow cytometry, RNA and DNA screen tools, and Experience bioprocessing laboratories management and laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
