Print Production Manager - Physical Retail

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our in-house Creative Group. You’ll manage and deliver projects that support our existing stores’ seasonal floor sets in addition to projects that support Wayfair’s scaling expansion in Physical Retail. This role will support the Wayfair brand in addition to Wayfair’s four Standalone Brands (SAB): AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main and Perigold.

This role is Boston-based and reports to the Senior Production Manager, Standalone Brands Physical Retail. Local travel between Wayfair’s Boston-based office, local stores and Retail Lab is required.

 

What You’ll Do

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including: Brand Creative, Marketing, Merchants, Visual Merchandising and Store Operations
• Facilitate good production management as it relates to: time, quality, cost and communication 
• Review and thoughtfully critique the team’s work, providing actionable feedback and direction for junior team members to explore
• Pivot seamlessly between micro- and macro-level views
• Manage a range of project types such as: in-store signage, branded collateral, exit packaging and others to be identified
• Partner with Visual Merchandising and peer Retail Producer(s) to maintain the signage catalog across multiple brands, ensuring suite of parts is active and accurate
• Manage project financials: purchasing, billing and reconciliation
• Ensure vendor output matches Wayfair’s quality and service expectations 
• Recommends new materials and production processes
• Partner with the Senior Production Manager and Strategic Sourcing to identify and onboard new suppliers as and when needed

 

Who You Are

• 5+ years experience buying or producing print
• Experience on the supplier side, an agency and/or with big box, department, home decor or specialty retailers preferred
• Proven vendor management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
• Google Suite application experience necessary
• Experience with project management tools and systems (e.g. Jira) is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, process documentation and highly organized
• Able to work efficiently and effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment that’s constantly changing as Wayfair’s Physical Retail organization and fleet scales
• Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight and stakes are high
• Affinity for and success networking within a large and growing organization
• Ability to unpack and simplify complex projects in an ambiguous and changing environment
• Proficiency to prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, with high adaptability to change if required
