As Principal Operations Engineer – Release Engineering is a technical hands-on role focused on providing delivery automation services using the latest technology stacks and best practices to maximize the value of Oracle Fusion Applications, from source code onto the cloud.
The Release Engineering team strives to increase the velocity of innovation to our cloud services and ensure overall developer productivity. To be successful in this role:
- You have experience in development, testing and systems automation.
- You have experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles in the domain of cloud-based web applications.
- You are a firm believer in pipeline-as-code.
- You are passionate about end-to-end automation of all aspects of the delivery pipeline.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery for cloud-based web applications.
- Utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, and Amazon cloud platforms.
- Apply secure coding principles, with expertise in Fusion Middleware (WebLogic), IDM, OIC, and Oracle Database.
- Advocate for pipeline-as-code and demonstrate proficiency in micro-services.
- Contribute to development, testing, and systems automation for fully automated end-to-end delivery cycles.
- Possess deep understanding of RDBMS concepts, design principles, and data modeling.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Operate a fully automated cloud software delivery pipeline for large-scale Linux-based enterprise software.
- Identify and implement improvements emphasizing Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and 100% automation.
- Use CI release engineering tools (e.g., Jenkins/Hudson, Maven/Gradle) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Apply software development lifecycle methodologies, change/configuration management practices.
- Exhibit expertise in Git for source code management and strong scripting skills (e.g., Groovy, Go, Python, Linux shell scripting).
- Perform performance tuning, SQL tuning, profiling, and troubleshooting across various layers.
- Lead projects, mentor team members, and provide comprehensive updates.
- Utilize metrics/analytics for continual learning and process improvement.
- Drive transformational changes in a dynamic technical environment.
Experience and Qualifications (continued):
- 6+ years of experience in software development, build management, testing, or related fields.
- 4+ years of experience in systems automation (tooling, testing, build & release).
- Proven success in team-oriented environments with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proactive self-starter with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- BS/MS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

US: Hiring Range: from $76,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
