Salary Range: $21 to $25 per hour
Position Summary Description:
The Safety and Security Associate is responsible for supporting a safe and secure environment across company facilities, with a primary focus on the Y. Hata & Co. retail outlet. This role safeguards company assets, employees, and customers by monitoring surveillance and access control systems, conducting inspections, deterring theft, and assisting with investigations. The Associate also promotes compliance with safety policies and security protocols, providing recommendations to improve risk prevention and operational effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operates and monitors surveillance and access control systems to ensure the security of facilities, assets, employees, and customers.
• Conducts regular walkthroughs and inspections of facilities, inventory, and operations to identify potential risks, safety hazards, or policy violations; communicates findings to management with recommendations for corrective action.
• Supports investigations into theft, asset loss, workplace incidents, and security breaches by gathering evidence, preparing reports, and assisting management and law enforcement as needed.
• Promotes compliance with company policies, theft deterrence programs, safety protocols, and operational procedures by providing support and guidance to employees.
• Maintains detailed documentation of all safety and security activities, including incident reports, inspection results, and surveillance reviews, to support ongoing analysis and improvements.
• Provides oversight and monitoring of contractors, vendors, and service providers on-site to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
• Acts as a visible deterrent by observing employee and customer activity in high-risk areas, intervening when necessary in accordance with company policies.
• Partners with management to support broader safety initiatives, including workplace injury investigations, property damage reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support the company’s overall safety and security objectives.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in security, safety, or loss prevention preferred.
• Basic understanding of security systems, surveillance equipment, and access control processes.
• Familiarity with safety protocols, emergency response, and workplace safety practices.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any state or company-required security certifications or clearances.
Days/Hours of Work:
Position Regular schedule: Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.
May require work beyond regular hours and occasional participation in company functions
