About the role

What You Can Expect

As our Project Development Manager – Greenfield, you'll be at the forefront of driving early-stage project development within ENGIE’s Distributed Solar and Storage (DSS) team. This exciting role involves spearheading the origination of innovative greenfield projects across key DSS markets within ENGIE North America. You’ll have the unique opportunity to lead a dynamic, autonomous team, shaping the future growth of the ENGIE DSS business. This position offers the flexibility to be based in either Chicago, IL ,Houston, TX, or Remote and reports directly to the Business Development Director for Distributed Solar and Storage.   • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new land campaigns, overseeing them from start to finish
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to craft and prioritize land acquisition strategies across key markets
  • Manage and negotiate with third-party land agents, co-developers, and other early-stage project partners
  • Make go/no-go decisions based on site screenings and internal intel, and negotiate land agreements with property owners
  • Oversee budgets for greenfield activities, manage project handoffs, lead a small team, and maintain detailed records and competitive intelligence

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, project development
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with renewable project development, ideally community / distributed-scale (1-20 MW) projects and related state programs
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with real estate agreements in the context of renewable energy project development (options, leases, purchase agreements, title curative work
  • You are conscientious, empathetic, detail-oriented, and highly organized, valuing inclusivity and diversity within a tight-knit team
  • You have the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards for quality, ethics, and accountability
  • You are willing to challenge assumptions, provide and receive constructive criticism, and drive towards creative solutions, with a proactive approach to tasks and projects
  • You are knowledgeable in MS Office and Google Earth Pro, with experience in GIS and solar desktop screening tools such as Anderson Optimization, Plant Predict, Helioscope, and Pivvot

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically / up to 20% of the and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $165,000 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
