Who we want:

Communities In Schools of Central Texas is seeking a Senior Director of Access to College and Transition Support to launch and implement the Access to College and Transition Support (ACTS) Program at Austin Community College (ACC). The Sr. Director leads in support of the Communities In School of Central Texas’s (CISCT) mission to prepare students for life-long success. This brings together personnel and resources for collaborative programming to provide a variety of supports for students furthering their education at ACC after they graduate high school.

This is an exciting time to join Communities In Schools. We moved into our new 30,000 sq ft headquarters, funded through contributions.

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $5,850/mo.  Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in education-focused settings, including nonprofits, community-based organizations, or higher education institutions
  • Proven expertise in postsecondary advising for first-generation and underrepresented students, including academic advising, financial aid, and fostering a sense of belonging on campus
  • Strong understanding of best practices in college enrollment, retention, and success within higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize, design, implement, and evaluate programs to drive impact and improve postsecondary outcomes
  • Skilled in strategic planning with schools, colleges, and communities to close equity gaps and achieve measurable improvements
  • Experience building and maintaining campus partnerships and collaborating across diverse teams
  • Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and inspiring teams to achieve program objectives
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, educational leadership, business administration, or management, preferred
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on strength-based leadership, preferred 
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies
  • Experience managing individuals or teams
  • Demonstrated English/Spanish speaking skills, preferred
  • Current CPR Certification, preferred
