Business Operations Intern - Starts Summer 2025

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from June 2, 2025 – August 1, 2025.



The Business Operations (Optimization) Intern will gain knowledge and hands-on-experience working on a variety of Business Optimization projects side by side with experienced Project Manager to help implement our new Large Group Health accounts, in addition to integrating with new vendors. You’ll also utilize your passion for people, curiosity, and problem-solving skills to help Business Optimization with process improvements as we support our enterprise strategic initiatives.

What you’ll do: 

• Assist in analyzing business processes and identifying areas for improvement. 

• Support the development and implementation of optimization strategies. 

• Collect and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives. 

• Prepare reports and presentations for team and management review. 

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions. 

• Shadow Project Managers during any: Implementations, Vendor Integrations, or special projects 

To be considered for this position, you must have: 

• Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in business administration, or related field. 

• High School Diploma or equivalent 

• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills  

• The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers
