Job Summary
Responsibilities
Plan, execute, facilitate and advance the scientific research projects, analyze and interpret the scientific data, and develop and test experimental protocols.
Collaborates with other researchers as appropriate.
Participates in the preparation and writing of grant applications and reports, and co-authors scientific research manuscripts.
May supervise other research staff.
May present work at scientific meetings, and provide peer review of grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
The individual in this role will be involved in all aspects of the design, development, implementation, and analysis of research projects focused on the intestinal system and innate immunity.
Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.
Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
Doctoral degree.
Experience:
Strong publication record in scientific research.
A demonstrated commitment to excellence in research.
Research experiences in the gastrointestinal or immune system.
Supervisory experience.
Preferred Competencies
Strong knowledge in gastrointestinal biology and/or innate immunity.
Strong experimental and technical skills.
Research experiences in genetic animal models.
Attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organization skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
