As a Manager, Global Tax Operations at Emerson you will be responsible for driving the transformation of processes through using automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaborative partnership cross-functionally with IT and other partner groups. In this position you will implement, maintain, and optimize technology solutions such as Oracle, OneSource, O365, and data lakes. In addition, you will manage multiple projects and initiatives at once, building support and networking inside and outside Emerson, and supervision of staff. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Coordinate, monitor, and troubleshoot existing tax systems. Supervise and implement tax technology solutions and responsible for the ongoing maintenance of tax technology tools and processes.
- Engage with various departments to understand the systems and design solutions to improve the reliability of reporting. Identify options to distill big data into usable formats.
- Identify, plan for, and advise all tax data management and warehousing needs, identify integration points between modules and coordinate with other departments as necessary, acting as a liaison between business and IT organizations.
- Gain end-to-end understanding of operational processes and data flow for the business, create process documentation and drive process improvements.
- Own the development and delivery of end user training materials. Conduct employee training on the applicable systems in support of functional processes.
- Remain current relative to new technology developments and tax reporting requirements, implement tax calculation and reporting changes.
- Able to work with cross functional teams and proactively seek solutions or suggest improvements.
- Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of staff.
- Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or technology related field
- 5 or more years of proven experience in a combination finance and technology role (experience at a big 4 accounting firm and/or in-house tax department of a multinational corporation preferred)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- Masters in accounting, finance or technology
- Prior experience as a tax data professional, including excellent knowledge of business process optimization tools, data analytic tools, and automation best practices
- Ability to use technology and analyze data in order to gain efficiencies such as OneSource Tax applications, Oracle financial, Microsoft Office 365 and power suite.
- Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize, meet goals and multi-task.
- Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills and ability to apply creative and innovative approaches in problem solving.
- Self-motivated, business savvy, integrity and great teammate.
