Mon - Fri normal business hours; Remote with some travel in area with special projects as applicable and some onsite work may be required.
Pay Range
$26.10 - $39.15Major Responsibilities:- Coordinates with leadership the successful implementation of deployments, and documentation of new and existing workflow processes. Proactively monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of application systems and workflows.
- Oversees the coordination of HIM support activities, which include communication to assigned teams, education, user orientation and quality reviews.
- Serves as a resource and provides resolution to complex operational issues. Leads training sessions for assigned teams and presents educational materials.
- Performs data analysis to support key performance initiatives. Anticipates reporting needs, and makes suggestions for value added data. Collects, documents and analyzes current workflow and data correlation to analyze trends and identify solutions.
- Ensures data integrity and audits reports to identify/resolve potential issues, searches for potential system process improvements and recommends change. Identifies and implements industry best practices, quality, service and efficiency initiatives related to HIM operations.
- Collaborates with leadership on new functionality and testing, enhancing user training and education modules and provides advanced training as needed. Evaluates training effectiveness and recommends changes to training curriculum to ensure departmental optimization.
- Serves as a Privacy Officer and maintains up to date knowledge of federal and state privacy laws and HIPAA regulations. Facilitates and coordinates investigations within the entity/business line, ensures that appropriate sanctions, retraining and corrective actions are taken, as well as signing and sending breach notifications drafted by Privacy Compliance. Performs privacy education for own team as well as other Advocate Aurora Health team members.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization’s business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Health Information Administrator (RHIA) registration issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Health Information Technician (RHIT) registration issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or
Education Required:
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in medical records and/or transcription, including experience in a lead or senior level staff role in a complex health care setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
- Advanced computer skills including proficient keyboarding skills and experience in using Microsoft Office products, electronic mail and/or electronic health information records systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions with good judgment.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving skills including the ability to handle difficult situations
- Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
- Position requires travel; may be exposed to road and weather hazards.
- Sits, stands, and walks various times throughout the workday.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
