Job Title: Maintenance Engineer II 

Department: Electrode Research

Job Reports To: Vice President, BCI Electrode

Job Type: Full-Time  

Location: Salt Lake City 


 

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

 

The maintenance engineer is responsible for maintaining all equipment in the cleanroom (ISO 5) and department laboratory. Responsibilities include performing the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of cleanroom and laboratory equipment, systems and components. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • 5+ years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing process equipment and components in a cleanroom environment.  
  • Ability to read and write maintenance literature printed in English. 
  • Experience with and ability to read a blueprint. 
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills 
  • Ability to stand for up to 7 hours in an 8-hour shift 
  • Ability to follow clean room gowning protocols and move throughout the facility. 

 

IDEAL COMPETENCIES 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer functions. 
  • Ability to read blueprints. 
  • Ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation. 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently, or in a group. 
  • Ability to follow specific directions. 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Operates, repairs, overhauls, services, and maintains equipment in all areas of the cleanroom and laboratory 
  • Prepares preventative maintenance Work Instructions and SOPs for cleanroom and laboratory equipment and components as needed. 
  • Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance work on equipment. 
  • Works on designing and implementing mechanical or electrical alterations to new and existing equipment to improve efficiency, performance, and extend the life of equipment as needed. 
  • Works on ensuring that all equipment and maintenance standards meet all regulatory compliance requirements mandated by local, state, and federal agencies 
  • Maintains clean equipment rooms and other areas to include filter change out 
  • Maintains equipment performance and repair records 
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanroom and laboratory space by removing chemical waste as needed and scheduling chemical waste pickup. 
  • Completes required after hours on-call rotation 
  • Running IQ, OQ, and PQ  
  • Write technical reports and specifications for clean room equipment 
  • Test function and performance for clean room eq
