Description:

The Senior Software Engineer will develop, design, and build the next generation revenue product. Responsible for building components and services that make core software products customizable and configurable, including providing notification services, hosting services, data connectors, Application Programming Interfaces (API) for configuration, and workflow and orchestration services. Design and develop application components for scale. Design and implement Business-to-Business and Business-to-Customer applications using JVM and JEE technologies. Design and implement subscription platform and applications including distributed query service, custom field and object service, and universal search. Use knowledge or understanding of data modeling, debugging distributed computer systems and fixing bugs, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, and Dynamo DB. Design and develop highly flexible common components and APIs that enable the build of custom solutions. Design REST APIs using Open API standards, and implement APIs using Dropwizard or Spring Applications. Develop applications on a Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS) model using Java programming, the Linux operating system, and deploy software systems in the cloud. Collaborate with software architects and senior developers to design application modules using object-oriented design methods. Design and construct integrations allowing the exchange of data with remote systems using Java over SOAP or REST. Work closely with QA engineers to design, implement and build and test automations. Transform software requirements into detailed system design document. Write software code to run the automations. Test process and find defect or bugs in software. Use software tools such as Junit and Selenium to test automations. Use customer use cases and design strategies for comprehensive end-to-end testing of system, Amazon Web Services to deploy and run applications, and create software containers to deploy complex distributed systems locally for testing. Advocate for developing high quality software and promote best practices to produce reliable, maintainable and fault tolerant software. Help with company’s transition to micro-service and cloud-based architecture.

 

Education / Experience Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field; and three (3) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as Software Engineer or IT professional.

Alternate Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field; and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as Software Engineer or IT professional.

Special Requirements:  

• 3 years of experience with Java and Linux.
• 3 years of experience working with web services and distributed computing cloud.
• 3 years of experience architecting software system.
• 3 years of experience debugging software.

 

Salary: $185,000 / year
