Hourly Rate: $15.75
Work Schedule: 28 hours per week
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Library/Learning Commons Assistant is responsible for providing general library support in such areas as technical service, reference, circulation, tutor referrals, and basic computer support.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists library users with library resources in all formats, including books, library databases, library website, MyIvy, IvyLearn, TracCloud, Windows Office and other basic computer applications.
· Offers exemplary customer assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
· Provides routine clerical support including collecting and reporting usage data.
· Provides circulation assistance (processing overdue notices, fines and fees).
· Assists with holds, reserves, interlibrary loan, and periodical maintenance.
· Performs routine technical service (print periodical and book processing).
· Enters purchase requisitions, creates receipts, and submits invoices for payment.
· Creates promotional displays, brochures, flyers, and slides, in both print and electronic formats, for the Library and Learning Commons.
· Assists as requested by director on statewide library process teams.
· Assists with the creation and maintenance of Library Guides
· Assists tutors with appointments and calendars of availability

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate’s Degree in a related field.
· Proficient at typing and computer skills required.
· Knowledge of various software packages (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and modern office technology required.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community required.
· Good oral and written communication skills required.
· Knowledge of standard library practices and procedures preferred.
