Registered Nurse II- Duke Urgent Care   Occ S ummary

Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patientsin accordance with physician orders and established policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families inacco rdance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing.

 

Work Performed

 

Plan, provide, supervise a nd document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process for p atients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan o f care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response t o care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of pa tients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective acti on to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material r esources.Participate in own professional development by maintaining requ iredcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassi stance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the develop ment of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and in performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incident alto the work described herein.

Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enrol
