Lead Extraction Technician
Job Type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Schedule: Mon-Fri; 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay-Rate: $28.25/hr
Location: Ravena, NY
Who You Are:
As a Lead Extraction Technician at Curaleaf, you’ll be at the forefront of our operations, driving innovation and excellence in cannabis extraction and processing. This is an exciting opportunity to "own" a new lab, develop systems and processes, and play a vital role in launching new products in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.
What You Will Do:
- Operate advanced extraction and purification equipment, including pressurized systems, rotary evaporation, winterization, distillation, and more.
- Author and adhere to SOPs for extraction, post-processing, and laboratory maintenance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of lab equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Plan and execute daily extractions, meet production goals, and track inventory.
- Support R&D initiatives by building experimental designs and implementing process improvements.
- Develop and document meticulous lab notes, batch records, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, operations, and supervisors to drive innovation.
- Install and maintain plumbing and electrical components for lab equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to state and federal regulations, maintaining compliance with all legal standards.
Compliance:
- Ensure processing operation is fully compliant with state regulations and federal and state law.
- Assure that operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements.
- Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory and documents production by completing forms, reports, logs and batch records
- Maintaining inventory within state-issued cannabis inventory software
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma required + 2 years of technical/vocational training.
- Hands-on experience with pressurized systems, extraction processes, and rotary evaporation.
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in scientific record-keeping.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
- Knowledge of cGMP, health and safety protocols, and hazardous waste handling.
- Familiarity with ROTO evaporation and other extraction equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Even Better If:
- You have 1-2 years of laboratory or manufacturing experience.
- You have a B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Bioprocess Engineering.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, along with frequent bending
- Close vision (unobstructed vision at 20 inches or less)
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds with assistance
