Associate Director, Event Operations (Axios Pro)

Quick take: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are looking for an Associate Director of Event Operations to join our growing events team for our subscription businesses. 

Why it matters: As our Associate Director of Event Operations, you will serve an integral role in both strategically building out the events function with our quickly going Axios Pro business. We need a strong team member to manage operations and logistics, providing direction and support to team members, serve as a liaison with event clients, vendors, brainstorm creative concepts to bring our events to life, and create and implement all visual elements of our events (creative catering, invites, signage, event installations, etc).

Go Deeper: This role has relationship management and operational responsibilities and will manage multiple, concurrent events while moving at a fast pace across an early-stage subscription product. You will work cross-collaboratively with marketing, production, and many other team members within Axios Pro and will serve as an ambassador of Axios and the events team throughout the entire events process.

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

• 4-6 years experience in sales, sales enablement, coaching and management 
• Proven track record of client/relationship management experience 
• An eye for design and creative vision
• A deep understanding of end-to-end event lifecycle management
• Ability to work independently on tasks, but highly collaborative with multiple teams
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members 
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Desire to work hard, learn new skills, and grow professionally
• Willingness to work early mornings and late nights
• Willingness to travel regularly 
• Project management software experience is a plus (i.e. Wrike)
• Highly analytical, can leverage raw unorganized data into actionable insights
• Ability to adapt quickly to the evolving needs of a high-growth product
• Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce or Hubspot) and developing dashboards, gathering requirements from sales leaders to optimize insights from tool
• High emotional intelligence and deep commitment to progressive diversity and inclusion practices

Base salary for this role is $82,000-$90,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits.
