About the role
The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in preparing journal entries, workpapers, and account reconciliations for the full month-end close cycle. This role will collaborate with individuals in multiple departments such as Financial Planning & Analysis, tax, and operations. The individual should have the ability to work cross functionally with these groups in addition to having ownership of their respective general ledger transactions, audit request preparations, and support the team in ad hoc tasks and projects.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze global journal entries and workpapers during the month-end close cycle
Prepare global account reconciliations after month-end close for various subsidiaries on a recurring basis
Reconcile daily global cash transactions between the bank and general ledger. Ensure that all cash-related transactions are accurately reconciled monthly
Maintain assigned schedules and workbooks used for financial transaction recording
Support financial audits and work directly with auditors to complete audit requests timely
Support system implementations and improvement of accounting processes and procedures
Responsible for completing variance analysis and financial reports to support business partners and FP&A team
Prepare and assist in reviewing transaction coding to ensure financial transactions are recorded to the appropriate accounts
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of US accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
Ability to identify detailed transaction coding errors, vet financial data for accuracy upon review in ERP system, and willingness to find process enhancements to reduce such errors in the future
Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
Excellent time management, upward communication, and organizational ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large data sets. Proficient with common functions such as pivot tables, sumifs, v-lookups, and x-lookups
Excellent communicator in both written and oral for technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience
Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience
Understanding and hands-on experience working in US GAAP
CPA certification completed or in progress is a plus but not required
Medical device or manufacturing industry experience preferred
Experience with financial ERP and reporting systems such as NetSuite, SAPAdaptive/Office Connect
Inari Medical offers competitive health and wealth benefits for our employees. The base pay range for this position is $63,500 - $79,500. Actual total compensation may vary.
