Position Highlights: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery - Nights

  • Position: Staff Nurse – Labor and Delivery
  • Hourly Pay Range: $34.68 - $55.80. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $36 base pay hourly rate beginning with May 2025 paychecks.
  • ·         Location: Evanston Hospital
  • ·         Full Time/Part Time: full time 36 hours
  • ·         Hours: 2300-0730 and 1900-0730, with weekend rotation;
  • On call 8 hours every 6 week schedule
  • ·         Required Travel: Required to float to other sites if needed.

What you will need:

·         License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required

·         Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred

·         Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required

·         Experience: Minimum of 1- 2 years Maternal Child Health or acute care nurse experience strongly preferred

A Brief Overview:
The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

What you will do:

  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
  • Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
  • Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care
