Position Summary
The People Operations Generalist performs day-to-day operations of the People Operations Department. Under direct supervision, the People Operations Generalist is responsible for essential functions such as, payroll data entry, policy compliance, and reporting and analysis. Specializes in the administration of the Company's benefits offerings, safety programs, and HRIS system, while also assisting in employee relations, training and development, and people initiatives.
Benefits & Compensation
- Coordinates and administers health, dental, vision, COBRA, and 401(k) plans, including managing open enrollment and team member eligibility.
- Leads annual 401(k) audit by collaborating with auditors, TPAs, and the Accounting department.
- Develops and updates bonus/commission structures and supports compensation philosophy and benchmarking.
Compliance & Leave Management
- Manages leaves of absence, ensures legal compliance, and processes state disability/PFL paperwork.
- Acts as the company’s legislative compliance expert. Maintains up-to-date policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook in compliance with labor laws.
- Completes required state and external reporting.
Safety & Workers’ Compensation
- Ensures workplace safety compliance (OSHA/DOL), creates training, and conducts audits.
- Manages workers’ compensation claims and investigations.
Payroll & HR Systems
- Manages bi-weekly payroll auditing and HRIS data integrity.
- Maintains personnel records across HR tech systems and performs routine audits.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Supports employee relations efforts, including investigations and documentation.
- Assists with cultural initiatives and team member experience programs.
- Handles general team member inquiries.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources Management or a related field of study preferred.
- 3-5 years applicable Human Resources experience.
- Previous supervisory/managerial experience required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficiency with Paycom is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A consistently positive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company-established procedures.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Work well in a collaborative environment with multiple departments and internal customers.
- Hybrid role: three days in-office required (Poway, CA).
