Job Description

We are currently looking for a dynamic and skilled (Senior) Tribology Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Neumünster. You will be part of our international Tribology & Materials Engineering (TME) Experts Circle team and you have the chance to make a meaningful impact on our Hydrostatics Division’s projects and initiatives. This position is limited to 12 months.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will drive technical solutions primarily for the Hydrostatics division and adjacent business units of Danfoss Power Solutions in relation to tribology, fluids, and engineered metrology features (e.g. surface texture, form, waviness, etc.).

 

This includes the following tasks:

  • Performing tribology-related analysis tasks, assemble data streams from laboratories and prepare technical reports containing actionable conclusions.
  • Advising internal and external customers on the specification of manufacturing processes and features influencing tribological functional interfaces, considering various requirements such as robustness, cost, and quality.
  • Actively research and contribute to tribology solutions during key business activities, e.g. 8D-reports, design FMEAs, and Engineering-driven design review meetings.
  • Create and develop tribology-related training programs
  • Actively participate in creating and revising standards and represent Danfoss in tribology-related national committees such as STLE, VDA and VDMA
  • Coach and train colleagues in tribology matters
  • Plan and participate in tribology-related R&D projects

To thrive in this position, you hold a university degree (preferably a Master*s degree) in material, chemical or mechanical engineering, ideally with a focus on tribology, and have gained several years of comparable industry experience.  

 

Additionally, we are looking for:

  • Knowledge in MiniTab and OmniSurf
  • Problem-solving and detail-oriented way of working
  • Analytical mindset, practical problem-solving approach,
  • Ability to think critically to arrive at decisions based upon facts and when facts are in short supply,
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset to succeed in a multinational, diverse team across all time zones
  • Fluency in English and German
