Job Description Summary

The research assistant will work with the team on an ongoing research project that aims to help improve head and neck cancer survivors on their lymphedema management.

Job Description

The research assistant will report to the PI to ensure timely and accurate data collection and management.  They will be responsible for conducting recruitment and screening activities; collecting data; entering detailed patient data into a database program, filing, preparing data packets for research subjects, handling requests for outside medical records, assisting in subject follow-up via phone and mail, scheduling research subject in-person and virtual study visits, and administrative support such as administering surveys, scheduling meetings, and creating mailing lists.

Job Responsibilities

1) Conducts recruitment and screening related activities for study participants; determines eligibility.

  • Determines project eligibility for prospective participants; review medical charts

  • Maintains current and comprehensive documentation of all recruitment activities.

  • Oversees enrollment of participants; Contacts and administers informed consent to Legally Authorized Representative of participants

  • Creates notes in medical charts; scans information into database

2) Collects data from study participants, medical records, and nursing staff. Scans data into project database. Maintains correspondence and organized study files.

  • Conducts structured interviews with patients and caregivers, maintains a log of all attempts and follow-ups.
