The base pay range for this position in Maryland $20.50-$26.55 per hour.

The Job:

As Machine Lead on 2nd Shift, you will work in a manufacturing setting and help lead the team in performing key production tasks in the machining area. Responsibilities include:

• Performing complex machine set ups

• Reviewing existing product set up and making improvements

• Conducting in-depth troubleshooting and assisting with repairs

• Working to the requirement of the powdered metal plant quality system

• Inspecting parts to the specific quality plan using various shop inspection equipment

• Conducting training on all machines

• Ensuring that all machine safeguards are in place and operating properly

• Communicating to Supervisor/Shift Lead on recommended process or safety improvements

• Working with Supervisor/Shift Lead on recommendations for deployment of resources

• Alerting Supervisor/Shift Lead when deviant materials are found and inspecting identified parts to the specific quality plan

• Stopping machine if part does not meet the specific quality plan

• Maintaining 5S in machining area

• Other duties as assigned

The Person:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

• Ability to handle continuous standing of 8 to 10 hours daily

• Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 33 lbs independently and up to 70 lbs with assistance

• Strong orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement, demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, and constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement

• Knowledge or willingness to learn quality inspection techniques with use of shop equipment

• Training experience desirable

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a One Team mindset

• Ability to work scheduled overtime as necessary
