We want to help our clients be more sustainable by creating de dialogue with them on the transition to doing business in a sustainable way

ING wants to make an impact on the world by facilitating the sustainable transition of the Dutch Economy. And that starts with our clients. We want to facilitate them in reducing their CO2 emissions, by helping them with easy journeys and products to finance the change. But financing always comes with risks. Do we want to accept a bit more risk, if it comes with positive upside for our climate and our world? How should we weigh that then? And how do we take into account the risks that our clients are exposed to due to climate change in our credit decisioning? These questions are all yet unanswered and we need you to help work on that!

So, what does that mean for the role we have to offer?

We are looking for someone that likes to make sure ESG risk is part of all our relevant processes and conversations with clients. That ranges from creating scorecards to measure transition and locational risks, discussing our Risk Appetite for sustainable deals, to updating processes that make sure we only do business with clients that meet our ESR standards. Daily you are part of multiple content discussions on ESG risk and how to interpret regulations, but also you are part of implementing the outcomes in our IT systems. A great mix of challenging your brains and hands on achieving results!

You have an enthusiastic and proactive attitude; you want to make an impact and see results. You are curious, have a hands-on mentality and are eager to learn. In addition, you enjoy working in an international team and like a challenge. You have a passion for sustainability and our planet and you want to really make a difference.

But what does that mean concretely?

• Several years of relevant work experience;
• Experience in the field of Sustainability/ESG Risk
• Experience with Risk models
• University or master’s degree;
• You are a strong communicator, with an excellent command of the English language (Dutch is an advantage);
• A financial background and knowledge of Business Lending is an advantage;
• Knowledge and affinity with IT systems is a prerequisite;
• You are flexible, enthusiastic, binding and you have a service and client-oriented attitude;
• You have a hands-on mentality, are a team player and are result oriented;
• You work accurately, are highly organized and deliver high-quality work.
