How you will make an impact:

  • Manage a team of payroll employees, project teams, initiatives and program activities with accountability for successful completion.
  • Manage and oversee the work of multiple payroll scope and locations.
  • Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.
  • Develop and plan larger payroll projects and program activities with accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables including identifying gaps, recommending solutions while providing direction and guidance to multiple project teams. Identify, evaluate, and lead the implementation of more complex payroll programs and process improvements and/or course correction/alignment opportunities.
  • Evaluate and lead the implementation on complex program and process standardization and optimization
  • Manage and select payroll vendors to ensure vendor performance and maximizing investment; proactively address vendor issues
  • Establish key relationships with internal and external stakeholders including multiple functional areas and/or geographies
  • Provide input on the payroll budget including making recommendations on investments and ensure funds are utilized to meet project deliverables
  • Establish complex payroll metrics on trends, performance, and ROI (return on investment)
  • Stay abreast on industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, knowledge share (e.g., association meetings), and build a payroll network

What you'll need (required):

  • Bachelor's Degree and proven extensive experience in payroll operations
  • Demonstrated track record in people leadership

What else we look for (preferred):

  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in related field
  • Expert understanding of payroll procedures while identifying applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of payroll processes and/or systems
  • Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to payroll
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of payroll to the business
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
  • Proven successful project management leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing inj
