Senior to Principal Full Stack Engineer, Realtime Team

<h3>Description</h3> <p>We’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our <em>Ops Realtime Team</em>. This is a very senior-level position, suitable for an engineer with 7-10 years of experience who’s ready to take on high-impact projects in a serverless, event-driven environment. You'll be directly involved in developing and deploying real-time features critical to operational efficiency and user experience.</p><p>In this role, you’ll own technical decisions across the frontend, backend, and infrastructure of our modern web application. You’ll collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other tech teams on architecture proposals, implementing them with engineering colleagues on your team. Your work will focus on improving features, reliability, and performance.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications using <strong>React, TypeScript, Redux/Redux-Saga</strong> on the frontend, and <strong>Node.js with TypeScript</strong> on AWS Lambda for the backend.</li><li>Navigate the complexities of our <strong>event-sourcing and CQRS-based system</strong> in a serverless AWS environment.</li><li>Actively participate in the entire development lifecycle, driving technical discussions across teams.</li><li>Collaborate with the Product Manager and Designer to deliver robust, scalable features.</li><li>Maintain and improve coding standards and best practices within the team, offering mentorship and technical guidance as needed.</li></ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <ul><li><strong>7+ years</strong> of experience in full-stack development, with deep knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Node.js.</li><li>Practical experience in <strong>serverless architecture</strong>, especially AWS Lambda.</li><li>Experience with <strong>event-driven design patterns</strong>, such as event sourcing and CQRS.</li><li>Experience with <strong>AWS Aurora</strong> and <strong>DynamoDB</strong> for data management, and <strong>Elasticsearch</strong> for centralized logging.</li><li>Strong command of <strong>infrastructure-as-code</strong>; we heavily rely on <strong>AWS CDK</strong>.</li><li>Willingness to get involved with our infrastructure stack, including <strong>Jenkins CI/CD</strong>, <strong>Cypress</strong>, and <strong>Elastic</strong>.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>About the company:</strong></p><p>Optibus is passionate about the future of mass transportation – we want more people to use it, and we believe it should take center stage as the world of mobility changes around us.</p><p>Our vision is to be the technology engine behind better and more efficient means of mass transit, making it the first choice for passengers and cities alike.
