Waste Services
VLS Waste Services provides customized waste processing solutions for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste, including landfill diversion and sustainability programs, solidification of liquid waste, recycling, wastewater treatment, and waste sequestration.
Railcar Services
VLS Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance.
Marine Services
VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.
The Industrial Services Foreman is considered a “working” foreman and manages the daily scope of work while performing tasks associated with hazardous and non-hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, facility & equipment decontamination, above ground and underground tank cleaning activities, and confined space entry projects. This position provides leadership and direction to crews performing work and is the liaison between VLS and the client.
Essential Functions
- Practices safe work by following all company safety rules and OSHA regulations.
- Maintains client relationships at customer sites.
- Ensures client standards are attained by prioritizing projects.
- Manages time and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Assigns work tasks to crew members, procures, required materials, files work orders, and maintains records of projects.
- Communicates directly with client, VLS supervisor, & project managers.
- Completes JSA’s, conducts site inspections, provides hands-on leadership, and provides guidance.
- Trains personnel with strong emphasis on safety.
- Drives and maintains company vehicles.
- Completion of associated paperwork, including but not limited to daily worksheets, tailgate safety sheets, vehicle inspections, equipment inspections, and health and safety requirements / permits
- Effectively complete forms. Reads and understand procedures and safety information
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Confined space entry certification preferred
- Minimum 6+ months experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must pass pre-employment criteria
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time. Work hours will generally be day shifts, with some evenings and weekends.
Travel
Some travel is expected with this position. Could be a day job for over night
Work Environment
May be exposed to contaminants or hazardous materials. Works in a typically loud environment, requiring protective equipment such as work boots, safety glasses and reflective vests. Must be able to withstand hot, cold, & wet weather conditions. Must be able to wear half or full-face respirators as needed. Working at high elevations such as off ladders, scaffolding, and powered lifts. Will be required
