This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
The role includes both personnel management of Lunar Integration and Test Engineers in Florida and project engineering for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). The Manager is a leader of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers who perform testing and integration as well as developing the electrical test equipment used across the entire spectrum of component, subsystem, and vehicle development and verification tests.

Travel: Position nominally has about 10% travel with infrequent select periods up to 50% to support testing at remote sites.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Integrate, coordinate, and triage engineering support across integrated product teams and test engineers.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team.
- Plan, allocate, and track project resources, timelines, and budget.
- Strong understanding of spacecraft systems and test methodologies
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of electrical systems
- Lead their employees' professional development (e.g., performance evaluations, compensation and promotion management, and routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on career development.
- People management is intended to be 30% of the scope of work for this role. The number of assigned personnel will be adjusted to maintain a ratio of no more than 12-15 employees.
- 70% of scope will be in executing as a project engineer supporting EGSE development
- You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
- You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees
- 6+ years of experience in at least one specialty area applicable to space flight
- Experience leading electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) development for spacecraft, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost
- Experience with hardware design and system integration
- Demonstrated leadership in establishing a high-performing safety culture
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work
- Ability to support odd hours and long weeks during test execution
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
