Senior Editor

<p>In We Are Social Amsterdam, we are looking for a Senior Editor to join our Editorial team.</p> <p>If We Are Social aims at enabling relationships, the Editorial team is in the business of building digital places where those relationships can develop and be renewed over time.</p> <p>We do that by always trying out new stuff, by reinventing old tropes, by constructing and deconstructing languages and habits. We want to be in on the jokes.</p> <p>If you are fascinated by the at times inexplicable ways in which this weird thing that is the internet works, if you are the one who “knows the meme” and waves hands trying to explain some super odd TikTok that ended up on your FYP, then we are probably looking for you.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Purpose</strong></p><p>Reporting to the ECD, the Senior Editor works within the editorial team and has direct responsibility for the definition and rollout of editorial content strategies (which are usually for brands’ social media channels). </p> <p>Assigned to multiple accounts, editors supervise the production of content and monitor—in partnership with other departments—the effectiveness of the strategies they pitched and sold. They also give out a helping hand when it comes to defining how creative ideas are turned into social media content and how they are distributed.</p> <p>Editors also collaborate with creatives to come up with ideas for reactive content.</p> <p>Some of their tasks:</p><ul> <li>Definition of editorial strategies for clients and prospects</li> <li>Observation/study of specific communities</li> <li>Editorial plans checks</li> <li>Line management, mentorship and training of Writers</li> <li>Building a network of writers, contributors, freelancers</li> <li>Support in the execution of reactive content</li> <li>Performance analysis and definition of KPIs</li> <li>Slide making and presentations to clients</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Experience &amp; seniority</strong></p><p>At least 7 years of experience in creative agencies or social-first magazines.</p> <p><strong>Skills</strong></p><ul> <li>Inventiveness and curiosity in looking for new languages that are used online</li> <li>Crazy good knowledge of social media (both technical and of the communities that populate each platform)</li> <li>Interpretation of reports and data</li> <li>Willingness to experiment with and adapt messages to different audiences and channels</li> <li>Knowledgeability about the industry (best editorial cases, creators, formats)</li> <li>Project and people management/coordination</li> </ul><p><br/><br/></p><p><em>As part of the We are Social team you will be expected to create and encourage a culture where people from all backgrounds feel included, accepted and valued. </em></p><p><em>Our company Code can help us to make diversity and inclusion one of the pillars of our commitment culture that will help us to maintain our competitive edge, be one of the best agencies to work for and achieve our vision: to lead the evolution of marketing.</em></p><p></p>
