DevSecOps Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer for DevSecOps work with Oracle’s Government Defense & Intelligence (GDI) organization. Responsible for directing a team of engineers on the implementation and ongoing enhancement of Oracle’s DevSecOps tool chain and corresponding services. Deep understanding of DevSecOps concepts such as Bakery, Cyber Arena and Orchestration is required.
Familiarity with common DevSecOps tools as well as common Department of Defense Security tools such as:
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Microservices
- Kubernetes
- GitLab
- Familiarity with Cloud Native Foundation and common tools
Must be able to interact with Mission Partners to understand their requirements, particularly around their current security posture and development/deployment processes. Engineer will evaluate and make any changes/adjustments, if required, to the Oracle DevSecOps tool chain to meet Mission Partner needs. Be able to work with Mission Partners to help them transition their current processes to adapt the DevSecOps tool chain. Oracle takes a crawl, walk, run approach to transitioning customers to DevSecOps, this is a journey over time with iterative improvements – not a quantum jump.
- Stay on top of updates/changes to Department of Defense security posture such as Zero Trust, Micro-segmentation etc. Understands Security Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) at a deep level.
- Strong understanding of the accreditation process within the Department of Defense.
- The position is largely remote, however, periodic travel to meet with Mission Partners is expected.
Must currently hold and have the ability to maintain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications:
- Must be able to interact with Mission Partners, understand their needs, security posture and adapt DevSecOps tool chain if required.
- Familiar with standard DoD security tools, for example ACAS, HBSS, Splunk etc. Stay on top of updates/changes to security posture within the DoD, such as Zero Trust and Micro-segmentation. Understands Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) at a deep level.
- Experience with one or more accreditations of environments/applications within the Department of Defense
- Must have deep experience with at least one Commercial Cloud environment, preference to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Capable of working with customers to understand and advise on DevSecOps and Cloud Security best practices.
- Position is largely remote, however, periodic travel to meet with Mission Partners is expected.
- Must be a US Citizen. Minimum DoD Secret security clearance is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relevant discipline. Extensive work history in the area may be considered an acceptable alternative qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology. Must have exposure to DoD environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong skills with Office 365 products required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a contractor in the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.
- Technical expertise and hands on experience as a DevSecOps Lead Engineer.
- Software engineer experience with knowledge for applying these skills to cloud, data and analytics, cyber security, and customer mission challenges is beneficial.
- Experience or training with variety of Oracle technologies including the applicability and usage of these technologies by customers. Cloud certifications are important.
- Passion for technology, the curiosity and willingness to constantly learn new skills, work with new tools and discover new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges.
