Summary of the position:

As the Warehouse and Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining optimal inventory levels while implementing control systems and forecasting needs based on sales trends. You will oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and optimizing processes for maximum efficiency. Coordinating order processing is essential, as you will ensure timely delivery of products and manage returns and exchanges to uphold customer satisfaction. Collaboration with suppliers is key, as you will work to secure timely stock replenishment and negotiate contracts to optimize costs. Additionally, you will supervise and train warehouse staff, manage scheduling, and foster a positive team environment. Generating reports on inventory levels and operational efficiency will be part of your duties, along with analyzing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Lastly, you will utilize inventory management software to track movements and maintain data integrity, making this role vital for supporting overall organizational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts.

  • Implement inventory control systems to minimize discrepancies.

  • Assist in determining min/max and reorder points for inventory stock levels.

  • Cycle counting based on procedures for the organization. 

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root cause of problem.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, labeling, storing, and shipping products.

  • Manage logistics for all incoming and outgoing freight.

  • Inspection of all incoming products – visually inspecting equipment and boxes ensuring quality product is received (no visual damage incurred during shipment).

  • Receive stock deliveries, unpack, confirm receipt, and put away in correct location.  Input and track inventory in ERP system and/or SAP.

  • Arrange stock transfers in/out of other branches – coordinate and stage service parts for service technicians.

  • Ensure that warehouse practices comply with safety regulations and organizational policies.

  • Optimize warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency.

  • Maintain bin locations for easy identification of location of inventory.

  • Coordinate order processing and shipments to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.  Coordinate pick-up and deliveries with 3rd party carriers.

  • Manage returns and exchanges efficiently, maintaining high customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise Warehouse Specialist, if applicable, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

  • Instruct, Train, and manage all warehousing duties performed by Warehouse Specialist on the tasks listed above.

  • Foster a positive team environment and encourage professional development.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and operational efficiency.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Work directly with Procurement team on recommended adjustments to inventory planning and controls.

System Management:

  • Ensure that orders are received in a timely manner in the system. 

  • Implement and uphold a philosophy of diligence on consistent and timely receiving and shipping daily responsibilities.
