Essential Functions

Understand and comply with Madix policies and procedures, quality system manual, operating and technical procedures, and workplace instructions. Lead, train, and supervise the workgroup by delegating tasks and checking work to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Demonstrate equipment operation, work procedures, and safety protocols, or assign employees to experienced workers for mentoring/training, ensuring adequate follow-up to verify training effectiveness. Provide leadership to enhance operating efficiencies, equipment performance, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards. Achieve production quotas with accuracy and maintain high levels of machine efficiency, meeting company labor standards. Interpret specifications, drawings, and work orders, and effectively communicate instructions to employees to meet requirements. Set up machines and ensure employees perform daily functions in line with Material Orders (MO’s) and the production schedule. Program machines and electronic instruments when necessary. Participate in product assembly and related tasks to meet work schedules. Perform quality control by comparing finished products to specifications, blueprints, and templates. Conduct checks on weight, color, size, shape, and texture, and use measuring tools to ensure accuracy. Address and resolve work-related issues, and communicate corrective action plans regarding defective materials, equipment, parts, and non-standard work. Notify the Production Supervisor of issues and seek guidance when necessary, ensuring work activities are conducted fairly, ethically, and consistently. Monitor and respond to machine malfunction warnings and alarms. Oversee accurate counts of materials and scrap. Suggest improvements to working conditions and equipment use to increase safety and efficiency. Regularly communicate with the Supervisor regarding employee performance and issues impacting the work crew. Propose plans to motivate workers and achieve production goals. Maintain accurate production records in SAP and RFGEN systems. Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and actively participate in production and safety meetings. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials, ensuring proper documentation of materials used. Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives in alignment with company policies. Keep up to date with the latest production and management concepts to improve individual skills. Track and maintain company tools and equipment. Ensure machines and work areas are cleaned and lubricated as needed, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Ensure proper shift turnover, including the status of machines, lines, and products. Attend mandatory safety training and participate in self-improvement and lean events as directed by the Supervisor.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes. Must pass Madix forklift certification. Proficient with hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, cut-off saws, and scan guns. Capable of operating levers, buttons, foot pedals, and using gauges or measuring instruments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and squat for extended periods. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and managers. Strong leadership and multitasking skills. Ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot production issues, and recommend solutions. Ability to propose new ideas, methods, or approaches to improve department and company performance. Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Advanced knowledge of products and services offered by the company. Reliable, self-motivated, resourceful, and quick to learn, with a positive attitude and openness to new challenges. Availability to work weekends and/or overtime. Ability to focus and work effectively in a noisy environment. Ability to wear protective equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, respirators, and welding helmets, and lift up to 50 lbs. Good math skills, including fractions and angles. Ability to read and use a tape measure, protractors, and interpret blueprints or simple drawings. Strong reading and writing skills.

Education and Experience

Knowledge equivalent to 1 to 2 years of high school education. High school diploma or GED preferred. Computer skills are Mandatory.

Work Environment

Manufacturing plant with significant temperature fluctuations. Dusty and noisy environment. Exposure to odors and fumes.
